WrestleMania 42 Predictions: Who Wins, Who Loses, Who Shocks the World

Suplex Digest Staff··12 min read

WrestleMania season is here, and the card is stacked. From world title showdowns to grudge matches years in the making, WrestleMania 42 has the potential to be one of the greatest events in WWE history. The Suplex Digest staff has broken down every major match with our honest predictions — no safe picks, just the calls we believe in.

WWE Undisputed Universal Championship

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. CM Punk

This is the match the wrestling world has been building toward since Punk's return. The story writes itself: Punk has unfinished business, and Cody has the title Punk never held during his original run. The crowd will be electric and split right down the middle.

Our Pick: Cody Rhodes retains. WWE invested everything in Cody's story to finish it. They won't pull the trigger on a title change here — but Punk will look like a million bucks in defeat. This feud continues past WrestleMania, and Punk gets his moment later in the year. Expect a 25+ minute classic with at least two false finishes that have the crowd believing Punk has done it.

World Heavyweight Championship

Gunther (c) vs. John Cena

Cena's retirement tour reaches its peak. Gunther has been a dominant champion, and Cena represents the old guard making one last stand. The passing-of-the-torch narrative is strong here, but this is John Cena's last WrestleMania — and WWE knows it.

Our Pick: John Cena wins his record-breaking 17th world title. This is the moment. Cena ties and breaks Ric Flair's record on the grandest stage. There won't be a dry eye in the building. Gunther can afford the loss — he'll be champion again. Cena can't afford to not have this moment. It's the perfect ending to an incredible career.

Women's World Championship

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. IYO SKY

The women's division has been on fire, and this triple threat has the potential to steal the show. All three are capable of putting on a main-event caliber performance, and the triple threat format means nonstop action.

Our Pick: Rhea Ripley retains. Mami isn't done yet. She's been the face of the women's division, and WWE will keep the belt on her through at least SummerSlam. IYO eats the pin after Bianca hits the KOD, then Rhea swoops in with Riptide on Bianca for the 1-2-3. Protect everyone, keep the title on Rhea.

The Bloodline Civil War

Roman Reigns & The Rock vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu

The Bloodline saga has been the greatest long-term story in modern wrestling. Roman and The Rock joining forces against the new-look Bloodline is a WrestleMania-level collision. The family drama, the betrayals, the Samoan legacy — it all comes to a head here.

Our Pick: Roman Reigns & The Rock win. The OG Bloodline stands tall at WrestleMania. The Rock hits a People's Elbow on Solo for the pin while Roman takes out Fatu on the outside. But watch for a post-match twist — don't be surprised if The Rock raises Roman's hand, only to hit him with a Rock Bottom to set up their eventual one-on-one showdown.

Intercontinental Championship

Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sami Zayn

Breakker has been a wrecking ball as IC champion, and Zayn is the perfect underdog challenger. The crowd loves Sami, and this match will have the WrestleMania crowd fully invested.

Our Pick: Sami Zayn wins. This is Sami's WrestleMania moment. He's earned it through years of incredible work, and the IC title on Sami elevates both the championship and the man. Breakker will get it back eventually, but this night belongs to Sami.

United States Championship

LA Knight (c) vs. Logan Paul vs. Carmelo Hayes

LA Knight has been the people's champion in every sense, and this triple threat gives him two opponents who can bump and fly. Logan Paul, love him or hate him, delivers at WrestleMania every time. Hayes is the dark horse who could steal the whole thing.

Our Pick: LA Knight retains. YEAH! The crowd will riot if LA Knight loses at WrestleMania. He pins Logan Paul after a BFT, and the arena erupts. Sometimes the right booking is the obvious booking, and this is one of those times.

Tag Team Championships (Unified)

DIY (c) vs. The Street Profits vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Three elite tag teams in a WrestleMania showcase. MCMG bring the workrate, Street Profits bring the athleticism, and DIY bring the championship experience. This is a tag team fan's dream match.

Our Pick: Motor City Machine Guns win. Shelley and Sabin deserve a WrestleMania moment after decades of being two of the best tag team wrestlers on the planet. The feel-good story of the night. DIY can chase and eventually get them back, but let MCMG have their crowning achievement.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Jey Uso vs. Chad Gable vs. Pete Dunne vs. Braun Strowman vs. Andrade vs. Karrion Kross

The MITB match at WrestleMania is always a show-stealer with insane spots and surprises. This field is perfect for chaos.

Our Pick: Jey Uso wins the briefcase. YEET! Jey has been on a rocket ship, and the briefcase gives him a guaranteed world title shot. The crowd wants it, and Jey cashing in later in the year would be one of the biggest pops of the decade. It also keeps the Bloodline storyline simmering with potential family drama when he decides which champion to target.

Women's Tag Team Championship

Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair (c) vs. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & Kairi Sane)

Jade and Bianca are the most physically impressive tag team in WWE history. Damage CTRL are the scrappy underdogs who work incredibly well together.

Our Pick: Jade & Bianca retain. This team is too good and too marketable to break up at WrestleMania. They retain clean, but the seeds of a Jade heel turn get planted when she celebrates a little too much and Bianca notices.

The Wildcard Match

Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre

Two guys who have been circling each other for years. Rollins is the Visionary, McIntyre is the Scottish Warrior, and their styles clash beautifully. This is a grudge match with no title on the line — just pure hatred.

Our Pick: Seth Rollins wins. Rollins is the modern Mr. WrestleMania. He delivers every single time on this stage, and his track record speaks for itself. McIntyre gives him everything he can handle, but Rollins hits the Curb Stomp after a 20+ minute war. Both men leave elevated.

Bold Predictions & Surprises

  • A legend returns: Don't be shocked if a Hall of Famer makes a surprise appearance. The Undertaker showing up for one last moment would break the internet.
  • A title changes hands in under 5 minutes: One match on this card is going to be a squash. Our money is on a shock quick finish in one of the multi-person matches.
  • The main event goes 30+ minutes: Cody vs. Punk will be an epic that tells a story from bell to bell. Don't expect a quick finish.
  • A heel turn: Someone is turning heel at WrestleMania. It's tradition. Watch for it in the Bloodline tag match or the women's triple threat.
  • A debut: WrestleMania is debut season. Keep your eyes on NXT's top talent for a surprise run-in or post-match attack.

Final Thoughts

WrestleMania 42 has the potential to be an all-timer. The card is deep, the stories are compelling, and the star power is through the roof. Whether you're watching for the world title matches, the Bloodline saga, or Cena's final ride, there's something for every wrestling fan.

Whatever happens, we'll be here at Suplex Digest covering every moment — the wins, the losses, the shocks, and the surprises. Stay locked in.
